Perpustakaan Nirkabel Project at Sungai Lisai Bengkulu
Sungai Lisai Village was previously an isolated area until 2018. However, since 2019, the village has become accessible by two-wheeled motorized vehicles, and starting in August 2019, four-wheeled vehicles have also been able to enter the area.
This village was isolated in the past because it existed prior to the establishment of the Kerinci-Seblat National Park. Once the park regulations came into effect, physical development within the park area was prohibited.
Despite this, local residents have chosen not to relocate to the outskirts of the national park. The Sungai Lisai (Lisai River) provides the village with self-sufficient electricity through micro-hydro power. The presence of a sustainable forest ensures a stable water supply to drive the turbines.
